A picture tells a thousand words. The following infographic is of a sunflower growing. Reading up the iKomodo sunflower, we find 4 distinct phases of this P2P news project site. As at Feb 1, we are still only moving into phase I. Things will be moving around for the first month.
Phase I – Information Architecture Discovery & Content Creation
Not only is the Komodo Platform project a multi chain blockchain powerhouse, there are hundreds of combinations of chain parameters, dozens of Antara module combinations and several sub-projects including atomicDEX & the Antara gaming-sdk + more…
In order to cover this information as well as link to important developer updates, team news relays & multimedia formats this website requires some kind of information architecture. This first phase is all about discovery of that architecture. At the launch, the architecture is simple:
- Bitcoin Integration & Evolution
- Developer Updates
- Blockchain Solutions
- Smart Chain Projects
There is a tag system that will also be created. But this initial launch architecture may not be optimal & the iKomodo editors are ready to present the news in better more exciting formats in the future. First task is to get the content on the pages.
Phase II – Blockchain Solution Coverage
One of the sections in the above information architecture plan is blockchain solutions. These are intended to be focused case-study type of guides into what problems projects have solved.
- Verus has solved blockchain identity & more
- Hush on private messaging
- Pirate on privacy with some cool 2020 projects lined up
- Pungo is creating fintech opportunities
- Marmara chain is bringing a cultural norm into the blockchain era
- AtomicDEX is going for global atomic swap adoption
- CHIPS & Pangea Poker for decentralized gaming
These are the initial solutions on the iKomodo P2P News roadmap for 2020.
Additionally, we’d like to perform the task of having a place to store newsworthy items from all projects in the Komodo ecosystem in a news relay. Our goal is to drive traffic throughout the ecosystem, wherever it comes from. Both with original content as well as content from the projects and developers themselves.
Phase III – Redesign
The launch site is “good enough”. But it isn’t brilliant. Coming from an engineering-first style of analytical news coverage, iKomodo editors are concentrating on content over style. We feel the developers doing the work need their stories told. These form a vital role in the information architecture of this site and without a clear understanding of what content we write about, we don’t want to “optimize too early” on the design front. Don’t worry, our chosen designer is already preparing for our request when we are ready to go.
Phase IV – Extensions & Tools
The iKomodo editor-in-chief served in the Komodo team as a Liaison Engineer. This type of work included working with marketing, developers, business developers and communicating with C-level executives. What we hope to bring in the fourth phase of this site’s lifecycle are some additional tools, demos & guides for the move into this exciting segment of technology.
